An exhibition of a unique collection of chairs has taken over Thoravej 29, and each one tells its own story. Stories about encounters with the system, frustrations, wounds, and hope—seen through the eyes of young people who have experienced bumps along the road toward employment and education.
The initiative is led by En Vej til Alle. The chairs are the result of workshops held in autumn 2025 with young STU students, Fonden Aspiranterne, and Lær for Livet UNG.
Soon – Laboratory for Possible Futures and SUS – Social Development Centre facilitated the process in which the young participants designed the chairs based on their own experiences with the system. Not just any chairs, but physical manifestations of their voices, experiences, and hopes for the future.
The chairs are now placed throughout the building, serving both as chairs of the past—reminding us of being overlooked, misunderstood, or forced into frameworks that did not fit—and as chairs of the future, offering space, respect, and hope for creating a system that could look different if we dare to listen to those who know it best.
Explore, listen, talk together, and touch the chairs at Thoravej 29, and experience how these stories can open the door to a new way of seeing the system.
