Digital transport of data supports increasingly large parts of our everyday lives and basic societal functions. The Internet is an infrastructure, just like electricity supply and the road network.
As we become increasingly dependent on digital solutions, we are losing insight into and control over essential parts of the shared infrastructure. We know very little about how data is transported and processed, and about how tech companies set the parameters for our digital lives.
The Digital Infrastructure think tank promotes the development of robust, sustainable and democratic digital societies. We do this by creating insight into the technical and economic frameworks for internet-based communication and putting digital infrastructures on the political agenda.
