Radionauterne
Science podcasts at children’s level
Radionauterne is a science communication universe designed for children aged 3–10. The organisation’s mission is to spark curiosity and encourage children to engage with the world of science.
This happens primarily through two podcasts: Radionauterne (ages 4–10) and Mininaut (ages 3–5). Both formats offer complex science communication developed at eye level with children, where their perspectives and questions are at the centre. Through audio, children get a screen-free alternative that stimulates their imagination and shows them that asking questions is both fun and valuable.
Curiosity for all – regardless of background
Radionauterne works to make science accessible to all children, no matter their background. Many children still encounter limitations and stereotypes that prevent them from seeing themselves reflected in the world of science. That’s why it’s important to meet children’s curiosity early on and offer them inspiring role models they can relate to. This is crucial if more young people are to choose STEM subjects later in life.
The organisation also aims to build communities around curiosity and critical thinking – essential in a time marked by fake news and misinformation.

From good intentions to real transformation
Transformation is happening on both content and organisational levels. On the content side, Radionauterne has documented impact: listeners report increased curiosity, confidence, and motivation to ask questions and engage with science.
At the same time, the organisation is undergoing a larger internal development process, moving towards becoming a mature, sustainable actor with a broad range of activities. The goal is to build a more robust structure capable of supporting an even greater outreach effort and to establish Radionauterne as a central, long-term presence in Denmark’s landscape of children’s culture and science communication.
More than podcasts
Beyond the two podcasts, Radionauterne is proud of the book Radionauternes Store Opdagelsesrejse (The Radionauts’ Great Journey of Discovery), their live shows, and the upcoming project Mininaut Music – a music album for children aged 3–6, where music, play, and science come together.
Dream collaborations
Radionauterne’s ideal collaborators are organisations and partners who share the vision of sparking curiosity and giving children opportunities to engage with – and see themselves reflected in – the world of science
